Cardiff City tumultuous return to the Premier League will end in disappointment as the Bluebirds relegation from the top flight was confirmed by a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Welsh club entered the final two games of the season needing victories in both contests while also hoping Brighton did not win either of their own remaining matches.

With Brighton in action Sunday at the Emirates against Arsenal, Neil Warnock’s men had the opportunity to make the Seagulls nervous with they could take three points at home against Crystal Palace.
