Biello frustrated after Impact blow two-goal lead against Sounders

A late defensive meltdown kept the Montreal Impact winless after two games.

MONTREAL — After the game, coach Mauro Biello was red-faced and incredulous.

With a two-goal lead going into the last seven minutes of Saturday’s encounter against the Seattle Sounders, the Montreal Impact looked a sure bet to seal their first win of the season.

But they blew it, as the visitors managed to cut the deficit in half through a Nicolas Lodeiro penalty kick, and Will Bruin banged home the equalizer deep into stoppage time stunning the crowd of 34,373 at Olympic Stadium.

“It’s as if my team was just waiting for the final whistle — that’s what p***ed me off,” Biello told reporters.
