Bauza hits out at AFA leadership: They know nothing about football

The former Argentina coach remains confident Lionel Messi and his team-mates will be among the 32 nations competing in Russia next year

Edgardo Bauza has criticised the new leadership of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), claiming they do not know anything about football.

After intense speculation, Bauza was sacked this month following a 2-0 defeat to Bolivia in La Paz, a result which left Argentina out of the automatic qualification spots for the 2018 World Cup.

The 59-year-old says he knew his time was limited after Claudio Tapia was elected president of the AFA at the end of March.
