The Wodonga-based club have pulled off the recruiting coup of the NPL Victoria 2 season by signing one of the A-League's greatest-ever strikers
Former Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson is set to return to where his football career began after signing a guest contract with Victorian second division club Murray United.
Murray United revealed their recruitment shock on Tuesday with the NPL Victoria 2 club securing Thompson for at least three matches this year, although according to a report in The Border Mail, the 38-year-old could play as many as 10 games.
Thompson was a guest player with Heidelberg United in Victoria's top division last year after finishing his 11-year career with Victory.
