The Spanish club's president has revealed that the 46-year-old has been sounded out as a potential replacement for Tata Martino.
Argentina has made an approach for Diego Simeone to become the new coach of the national team, Atletico Madrid’s president has confirmed.
Simeone is widely regarded as one of the best managers in world football having guided Atletico to the Liga title in 2014, as well as success in the Europa League, the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey.

The 46-year-old has also reached two Champions League finals in the last three years, although Atletico was beaten by Real Madrid on both occasions.
