Shakhtar snatch a late victory at the San Siro over Atalanta courtesy of Solomon’s strike with the very last kick of the game. Atalanta had an early chance to take the lead when Ilicic won a penalty following Krivtsov’s challenge, but Ilicic saw his spot-kick effort saved by Pyatov. The hosts did eventually go in front when Zapata headed home Hateboer’s cross from the left after Pyatov failed to claim the high ball. Shakhtar then levelled the scores before half-time when Moraes latched on to Patrick’s through ball and rounded the goalkeeper to finish the move. Atalanta then recorded a host of chances after the break with Gomez, Zapata and Muriel going close, but it was the visitors who claimed the three points when Solomon controlled Dodo’s pass and fired the ball past Gollini.
