David Alaba insists Bayern Munich has lost an “important player” following Mario Gotze's decision to leave the Bundesliga champion to rejoin Borussia Dortmund.
Gotze, 24, angered Dortmund fans when he left in 2013 to join German rival Bayern but completed a move back to Signal Iduna Park on Thursday.
The midfielder struggled to live up to his price tag at Bayern due to prolonged injury problems and therefore Alaba believes his former teammate was “unlucky” during his time at the club.
