INDIANAPOLIS — The morning after the Colts’ horrific collapse in Baltimore, Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich sat down with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus for a long conversation.
The more the two men talked, the more they realized Monday night’s collapse was more than just the transcendent brilliance of Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson.
The roots had been there in the Indianapolis win over Miami. A Dolphins passing game that looked overmatched for most of the game had come to life once the Colts got into catch-up mode.
“When we get into these, kind of, ‘two-minute modes,’ we’re struggling,” Reich said.
