Former Colts coach Chuck Pagano was back in Indianapolis on Thursday night as part of a fundraiser at team owner Jim Irsay's home for a cancer research fundraiser.
Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia in his first season with the Colts in 2012, went into remission and returned to the sideline for a surprising playoff berth. The relationship forged between Pagano and Irsay survived the coach's firing after the 2017 season.
Pagano delivered in the clutch Thursday night, hitting 10 free throws, each worth a $100,000 donation from Irsay, then nailed a final attempt with $1 million on the line.
