INDIANAPOLIS — A third tight end in the National Football League, especially on the Indianapolis Colts, tends to do a little more than perceived by outsiders.
Not only are they depended upon to be key parts of their team’s offense — ready to go at any time as pass catchers, but as solid run blockers, as well — oftentimes, they have earned their spot on the roster due to their contributions on special teams, too.
That’s been Brandon Williams’ story so far throughout his NFL career.
In 45 career games with the Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks, Williams has logged just one start, which came last season in Seattle.
