INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday announced the signing of yet another free agent with plenty of prior experience as a common opponent.
Outside linebacker Akeem Ayers, a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, was added to the Colts’ roster to bolster a pass-rushing unit that includes Robert Mathis, Erik Walden, Trent Cole and Curt Maggitt.
Ayers — who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 255 pounds — spent the first four seasons of his career with the AFC South rival Tennessee Titans before ending the 2014 season with the New England Patriots.
