INDIANAPOLIS – On Tuesday afternoon, the Colts added a vet to their edge-rushing group.
Akeem Ayers, a 2011 second-round pick, agreed to terms with the Colts.
In five NFL seasons, Ayers has played in 75 career games (57 starts) and has complied 337 tackles and 13.5 sacks.
Ayers, 6-3 and 255 pounds, has spent time with the Titans (2011-2014), Patriots (2014) and Rams (2015).
The Rams released Ayers during final roster cuts this past weekend. With the Rams, Ayers played more in a 4-3 defense, where as the Colts employ a 3-4 scheme under new coordinator Ted Monachino.
