INDIANAPOLIS — It was Frank Reich, then the first-year head coach, who learned over the season’s second half to never, ever worry about T.Y. Hilton’s toughness.
“We trust you,” Reich kept telling his hobbled star.
It was Devin Funchess, the newly-signed teammate, who called Hilton after he inked his contract with the Colts this spring.
“You’re the OG,” Funchess told Hilton over the phone. “This is your room.”
And it was Hilton himself, gazing around the wide receivers’ room at the Colts’ West 56th Street complex recently, weighing the fact that he’s four years older than everyone in there, telling them, “This is my eighth year.
