The long-term dilemma at receiver

Related Topics: Anthony Richardson, Alec Pierce

The Colts currently have four high quality, high-ceiling young receivers in Michael Pittman Jr, Josh Downs, Alec Pierce and Adonai “AD” Mitchell. Three of those four guys are signed until at least the end of the 2026 season and Pierce is signed through 2025.

The first dilemma will be what the Colts do with Alec Pierce at the end of the 2025-26 season. He will be up for a new contract and if he continues his strong play with Anthony Richardson, it will be hard for the Colts to let him go. However, with the drafting of AD Mitchell, who is essentially Pierce’s backup in many ways at the moment, he could be looked at as a viable replacement.
