The author of the DeflateGate report turned to a teleconference with reporters Tuesday to fire back at critics.
Two of the points he made involved the Colts:
First, attorney Ted Wells said, the NFL and Colts didn't plot a "sting operation" against the Patriots during the AFC title game, as the agent for New England quarterback Tom Brady has charged repeatedly.
Second, the NFL didn't do much of anything special to detect possible Patriots cheating before the big game because "nobody paid that much attention" to the Colts' complaint.
Wells, whose investigation resulted in a four-game suspension for Brady, offered an unwavering response when asked about the possibility of a sting.
