Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano said on Wednesday that quarterback Andrew Luck has “a ton of faith and trust” in fifth-year tight end Jack Doyle. The Colts gave Doyle a three-year, $18.9 million contract extension in March after trading Dwayne Allen to New England.
Doyle enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, seeing his targets jump to 72 from just 14 the previous year. Doyle converted 81.9% of those targets into receptions which ranked second in the league among tight ends who received at least 20 targets.
The only other tight ends currently on the Colts roster who received NFL snaps last year are Erik Swoope and Brandon Williams.
