Jonathan Taylor was nearly as surprised by the severity of his thumb injury as everyone else.
The Indianapolis Colts running back enjoyed one of his best performances of the season Nov. 26 in a 27-20 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after rushing 15 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
At some point in the first half — Taylor isn’t sure when — he felt pain in his right thumb and checked with trainers on the sideline. The initial opinion was the digit was jammed and Taylor’s hand was heavily taped before he returned to play.
