INDIANAPOLIS — Ryan Kelly was listening.
The stories kept coming, stories from his teammates, stories of getting pulled over and targeted, of families torn apart by murder and fear of the police. So many stories, one after another, from every corner of the United States.
Kelly — the son of a police officer, a man who works with the families of police officers killed in action — felt the weight of all of his teammates’ stories bearing down on him.
“It’s tough for me because I know there’s good out there, but I didn’t know that there was that kind of evil out there as well,” Kelly said.
