INDIANAPOLIS — Taylor Stallworth had just one sack in four years at South Carolina.
He got his first NFL sack in the 10th game of his rookie season with the Saints. Nearly two seasons passed before he posted anything in the sack column again, a half-sack of Joe Burrow for the Colts last October.
Stallworth earned his NFL keep by stuffing the run, clogging lanes so other defenders could make the play. Any pass rush was a bonus, an extra toy tucked into the bottom of the cereal box. Two weeks ago, Stallworth had 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hits in his first 41 games in the NFL.
