Rookie Mack produces buzz-worthy NFL debut

ARLINGTON, Texas — Marlon Mack temporarily paused late in the first half to allow tight end Darrell Daniels — working as the fullback on this play — to set up his block. Then the rookie running back made his move.

He bounced the run slightly to his left and tied the first Dallas Cowboys defender in knots. Then he accelerated through the void as two more defenders crashed together in his wake.

Still gaining speed, Mack ran through an arm tackle and finally was brought down for a 13-yard gain.

The run helped set up an Adam Vinatieri field goal for the Indianapolis Colts' first offensive points during a 24-19 preseason loss Saturday afternoon.
