INDIANAPOLIS — Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez tweeted Tuesday evening that the surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his body was successful.
Sanchez, who was diagnosed with the tumor late last week and decided to punt against Tennessee anyway, revealed his illness Monday.
Fellow Colts, former Colts stars such as his predecessor Pat McAfee and the rest of the NFL community came out in a show of support for Sanchez after the news broke, and the 26-year-old punter acknowledged it on Tuesday.
