Colts fans were less than excited to enter the 2017 season with Scott Tolzien as their starting quarterback, and it couldn’t have gone much worse for him in Week 1 as he went 9 for 18 passing for 128 yards and 2 interceptions, which were both returned for touchdowns.
Tolzien was eventually benched for Jacoby Brissett, who was acquired in a trade with the Patriots about a week before the season opener.
According to a report from Adam Schefter, Tolzien’s Week 1 benching will be permanent as the Colts are expected to name Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback going forward.
