The Indianapolis Colts have signed two veterans who haven’t logged an NFL regular season snap since 2021, wide receiver Greg Ward and defensive end Derek Rivers.
Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen is familiar with Ward and his skillset as they spent two seasons together (2020-2021) while members of the Philadelphia Eagles. The former 5-11, 190 lb Houston Cougars QB turned NFL wideout had 88 receptions for 768 yards and 10 TDs during his time in Philly (60/514/9 while Steichen was the offensive coordinator).
Ward remained an Eagle during Steichen’s last year in Philadelphia (2022), however, he spent that season on the injured reserve list and would fluctuate a spot on the Eagles practice squad the following season in 2023.
