INDIANAPOLIS -- Hearts sank to the ground in the spring of 2012 when the Indianapolis Colts made a tough but necessary decision. The Colts and quarterback Peyton Manning, the player who made them relevant in the NFL again, parted ways after 14 years together.

As gut-wrenching as it was to do, the move had to be made even after Manning led the Colts to a 141-67 record, 11 playoff appearances and two Super Bowls (winning one of them).
