The story goes that about a week before the 1998 NFL Draft, Peyton Manning told then-Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian, “If you take me, I promise you we will win a championship. If you don’t, I promise I’ll come back and kick your (butt).’”
That's the type of confidence it takes to play quarterback at a high level in the NFL.
Twenty-two years later, the Colts have another young quarterback on the roster oozing confidence, one whose childhood idol just so happens to be Manning.
That quarterback is Jacob Eason.
Manning, the No. 1 overall pick of that 1998 draft, started from Day 1 in Indianapolis.
