INDIANAPOLIS — “Manning vs. Brady” has been one of the NFL’s hottest debates now for almost two decades, dating back to their seemingly annual battles, especially those memorable matchups deep in the playoffs, from 2001 through 2016.
Make no debate about this: Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the two greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Yes, names like Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, John Elway, Dan Marino and Brett Favre certainly belong in that discussion, but if you’re talking about a pure consistency of excellence — all-time excellence, at that — it’s hard to argue against Manning and Brady being at the top of the list.
