The schedule only gets tougher from here. The Colts needed to go to Detroit on Sunday, take care of business and move to 5-2 before a tough slate in the second half of the season begins.
That's exactly what they did. Led by a precise Philip Rivers (23-of-33 for 263 yards and three touchdowns), an explosive Nyheim Hines and an opportunistic defense, the Colts routed the lowly Lions (3-4) 41-21 on Sunday at Ford Field.
Though the Lions kept trying to creep back in the game, the Colts slammed the door shut in the second half, forcing a pair of turnovers, including a pick-6 by Kenny Moore to seal the game.
