The Indianapolis Colts stood pat among a frenzied first day of NFL free agency. Well, technically Monday was just the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period -- Wednesday is the actual start of free agency -- but there was still plenty of action Monday, with dozens of contracts being reported across the league.
And while some teams spent big (New England, Tampa Bay), others, including the Colts, stayed quiet (as of publication).
Fans of the team probably weren’t surprised, however. It has never been the M.O. of general manager Chris Ballard to strike early or big in free agency.
