With 13 minutes remaining in the second half, the Indianapolis Colts’ third drive of the game stalled at the Houston Texans’ 31-yard line.
While a 41-yard field goal is by no means an unheard of feat in the NFL, it was the first opportunity from distance for Indianapolis’ new kicker, Michael Badgley, and after the Colts’ nightmare kicking situation during Week 5, three points were far from guaranteed.
Badgley quickly put any worries to rest.
The former Los Angeles Charger and Tennessee Titan launched his attempt straight down the middle, part of Indianapolis’ 31-3 beatdown of the Houston Texans on Sunday — not bad for a guy who only joined the team Wednesday.
