INDIANAPOLIS — Joseph Addai’s NFL Draft experience went by like a blur.
Back in 2006, after months of training, interviews and team visits, the Indianapolis Colts — looking for a replacement for star running back Edgerrin James — selected Addai with their first-round pick (30th overall) in that year’s NFL Draft.
In what felt like an instant, Addai, an LSU product, went from trouncing the University of Miami in the Peach Bowl to earning his keep as an NFL rookie. He’d go on to post back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing performances, earn a Pro Bowl selection and play a major role in the Colts’ path to victory in Super Bowl XLI.
