INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts will play without Jacoby Brissett on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
The team announced Saturday afternoon that the starting quarterback had been downgraded from questionable to out due to a knee injury he suffered during last week's 26-24 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Backup Brian Hoyer will now start his first game as a member of the Colts, and for the first time since 2017. In a corresponding move, the Colts also promoted QB Chad Kelly from the practice squad. The team also elevated receiver Marcus Johnson, while waiving second-year wide receiver Deon Cain at defensive tackle Tyler Peko.
