Justin Simmons was one of the last major prizes on the free agent market. A Pro-Bowl free safety in need of a new team seemed like a perfect fit for the Indianapolis Colts who could surely use some help in the secondary. After meeting with the New Orleans Saints initially, Simmons ultimately made the decision to sign with the Atlanta Falcons on a one year, $8 million contract. Upon hearing the news, it seems like a really team friendly deal. Signing a veteran with no long term commitment for $8 million is an offer most Colts fans would have loved to see Chris Ballard make.
