While Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Robert Mathis has stated that he’ll be ready by training camp, his owner in Jim Irsay wasn’t quite as optimistic at Wednesday’s open mini-camp practice.
The 12-year veteran is still rehabilitating from a season-ending torn Achilles injury suffered early last season and hasn’t been able to practice. With time ticking ever-closer to August’s training camp, his owner has considered the realistic possibility of a delayed return:
“Time will tell,” Jim Irsay said via ESPN’s Mike Wells. “Obviously, Robert (Mathis) wants to be back as soon as he can be.
