CINCINNATI – Final auditions in the books and meaningless games now mercifully complete, the Indianapolis Colts can shift their focus to an eventful weekend – 37 players will be cut by Saturday at 4 p.m. – and the return of real football.
The onus now shifts from Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium, where a 28-yard touchdown pass from Phillip Walker to Cobi Hamilton with 1:12 remaining gave the Colts a 27-26 victory and 3-1 preseason record on Thursday night, and back to West 56th Street. General Manager Chris Ballard and his personnel staff have to winnow this roster down to 53 players in the next 48 hours.
