INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts’ patience with Adam Vinatieri has reached historic levels.
The future hall-of-famer has missed 10 kicks this season, yet remains employed as the Colts’ placekicker. Only one other time has a kicker in the past 30 years missed 10 kicks through his team’s first eight games and kept his spot on the team.
His name is Adam Vinatieri.
In 1996, then a rookie with the New England Patriots, Vinatieri missed 10 kicks in the season's first eight games and was convinced he was going to lose his job. He nearly did.
