It's a win-or-go-home for the Colts on Sunday in Nashville. Joel A. Erickson, IndyStar
INDIANAPOLIS — The moment Gary Pinkel heard about the mess in Indianapolis, his heart began to churn.
Josh McDaniels had backed out on the Colts after accepting the head coaching job. He left three assistants high and dry, men who’d already moved and started to work for him in Indianapolis.
Matt Eberflus was one of those men.
He was Pinkel’s protégé. A man who spent 18 years with him, working his way up from a player during Pinkel’s first season at Toledo to a coordinator for Pinkel’s most powerful teams at Missouri.
