INDIANAPOLIS — The problem with being Malik Hooker, second-year Indianapolis Colt, are the constant comparisons to Malik Hooker, first-year Indianapolis Colt. When a rookie sets the bar as high as Hooker set it last year – three interceptions in six starts – it can seem impossible for the sequel to measure up.
So far, on paper at least, it hasn’t.
Hooker knows this. He also knows a player’s performance cannot be distilled solely into stats – judging a starting safety’s performance based on interceptions is as short-sided as weighing a defensive end’s production only by his sack total.
