Insider: Rookie Colts RB Jonathan Taylor remains optimistic despite 1st setbacks of career

INDIANAPOLIS — For the first time in his career, Jonathan Taylor finds himself stumbling, facing a setback, something other than the meteoric rise to stardom he’s enjoyed since he first took over the starting job as a junior at New Jersey’s Salem High.

Taylor’s been taken completely out of the Colts’ offense two weeks in a row, the first time for ineffectiveness against Detroit and the second for fumbling against Baltimore.

But the rookie running back isn’t showing any frustration. Taylor seems upbeat, retaining his trademark positivity despite the fact that he’s lost his role as the team’s lead back, transitioning Indianapolis into a running back-by-committee approach.
