INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts do not go on wild spending sprees in the free agent market, not under the direction of current general manager Chris Ballard.
But the biggest splash Ballard made last offseason, the signing of former Chiefs pass rusher Justin Houston, has been everything the Colts needed him to be in his first season in Indianapolis.
Brought in to provide the consistent edge rush presence the Colts lacked a season ago, Houston picked up his 10th sack of the season Sunday against Carolina, a fourth-down stop that typified the presence he’s brought to the Indianapolis defense this season.
