Insider: Jermaine Johnson, other Senior Bowl edge rushers are dream scenarios for Colts

MOBILE, Ala. — The first day of Senior Bowl practices had just ended, and Duce Staley wanted to create a challenge. It was a 1-on-1 pass-rush drill, best of three, for the stadium to see.

He asked Florida State's Jermaine Johnson to rush the edge against Kentucky tackle Darian Kinnard. It was speed versus power, a matchup of two potential first-round picks.

The ball snapped, and Johnson sprinted right into the chest of Kinnard, placed his hands on the inside and drove all 324 pounds of him until he tumbled onto his back on the grass.

"That's what I live for," Johnson said.
