Jim Irsay had options. He could have opened his substantial checkbook, lured the biggest, baddest rock-star coach money could buy, and trot him out in front of a microphone to show him off.
It appears the Colts' longtime owner actually considered doing just that, or at least something other than what he ultimately decided. But in the end, Irsay opted for consistency over upheaval. He went with known versus unknown.
