INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are bringing back a familiar face at tight end to take over for Eric Ebron, who is reportedly headed to injured reserve due to the need for season-ending surgery on both ankles.
Former Indianapolis tight end Ross Travis, who spent the last two seasons with the Colts, will be signed, a source told IndyStar.
Travis, 26, had his first run in Indianapolis derailed by a torn ACL. Travis, who initially broke into the NFL with Kansas City, was picked up by the Colts in 2017, caught two passes down the stretch and played well in training camp in 2018, putting himself in line to make the 53-man roster.
