INDIANAPOLIS — The rumors, the speculation, the pontificating started last fall, right about the time Marlon Mack started to show the world what he can do.

First, and for months, it was Le’Veon Bell.

Mack ripped off back-to-back 100-yard games in October, then did it again to beat Tennessee and Houston in playoff situations. At the same time, people around the NFL were saying the Colts needed an upgrade at running back.
