As farewell addresses go, this one stood in stark contrast to the tear-filled one that took place some 17 months ago in the bowels of Lucas Oil Stadium.
When ex-Colts quarterback Andrew Luck retired, it felt like something was being painfully ripped away. His prime playing years, certainly, but sadder than that, the childlike glee for which he played the game. Injuries stole that from him.
But not Castonzo. Though injuries robbed him of the final few games of this season, for him, nothing was taken away. In fact, after 10 professional seasons and 25 years of his life, the 32-year-old Castonzo can confidently say he’s given the game everything he has.
