INDIANAPOLIS — Patience paid for Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts Friday night in the NFL Draft.
A night after they slid out of the first round, choosing to pass on the purported top-end talent they simply weren’t crazy about, Ballard’s Colts pounced with four second-day picks, addressing obvious needs with athleticism, intrigue and upside.
Ballard, the third-year GM, grabbed a strapping cornerback out of Temple named Rock Ya-Sin with the second pick in the second round, 34th overall.
