INDIANAPOLIS — The road trip is over, the visits to Dallas and Tampa Bay a footnote now that pen has been put to paper.
Clayton Geathers is back.
The starting safety signed a one-year deal on Wednesday to return to Indianapolis, becoming the first defender since defensive tackle Fili Moala, who was drafted in 2009, to sign a second contract with the team after his rookie deal.
Geathers is coming back with something to prove.
“Personally, I just want to stay on the field,” Geathers said.
