Indianapolis submits bid for 2023 NFL Combine this week, hoping to keep the event

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The NFL scouting combine has been housed in Indianapolis for the last 35 years, nearly its entire existence.

The NFL’s decade-long dance with other potential hosts reached a fever pitch last October when the league announced cities would bid for the event. But Indianapolis still has a chance to keep the event in 2023, and it isn’t giving it up with a fight.

The city of Indianapolis, along with Dallas and Los Angeles, is submitting its bid this week, Colts chief operating officer Pete Ward said at the NFL’s owner’s meetings this week.
