Indianapolis had already hired some assistant coaches, including defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, to work under Josh McDaniels before he backed out of an agreement with the Colts to return to New England. The Colts have decided to honor the contracts of those assistant coaches, and they will now work under Frank Reich next season.
There are still plenty of assistant coaching positions to fill on this staff, and the Colts have reportedly filled one by hiring Alan Williams to coach the team’s defensive backs.
Williams’ first NFL coaching job was on Tony Dungy’s staff in Tampa Bay in 2001.
