INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts have routinely shied away from having their starters play a lot of snaps on their preseason opener in years past.
Things may be different with Scott Tolzien in Sunday’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions.
Tolzien is operating as the starting quarterback until Andrew Luck returns. And if the first eight days of training camp are any indication, Tolzien needs as many snaps as coach Chuck Pagano is willing to give him against the Lions because he’s had an up-and-down camp so far.
