When Tampa Bay fired Tony Dungy after the 2001 season, he waited all of eight days for his next job. It came in the form of a phone call from Colts owner Jim Irsay.
Irsay left Dungy a message "that said, ‘Hey, this is not an interview. You're the man I want to be the coach. Don't even call your agent. You call me and tell me how much money you want.’"
"He was locked in," Dungy told Andrew Brandt on the latest Business of Sports episode. "We had to go through some things, but I was the guy he wanted.
